How Do I Upgrade My PlayStation®4 Version Of The Game To PlayStation®5?

Players who purchase LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on PlayStation®4 are eligible for a free upgrade to the PlayStation®5 version of the game. This offer is available to owners of both the Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition.

Digital

Players who purchase the digital release of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga through the PlayStation™Store will automatically receive the PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®5 versions of the game. Information on navigating between each version is listed below.

Save data does not carry between the PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®5 versions of the game.

Physical

To upgrade your LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga PlayStation®4 format disc to the digital PlayStation®5 version of the game, you will need a PlayStation®5 console with a disc drive. PlayStation®4 game discs cannot be used with the PlayStation®5 Digital Edition. 

1. Sign in to your existing account on your PlayStation®5 console.
2. Insert the PS4 game disc.
3. Highlight LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on the Game Hub screen.
4. Select the upgrade offer on the right side of the screen (indicated by a white box that states [Free PS5 Upgrade] and accept the upgrade offer.
5. Select [Download] to add the game to your download queue. You can monitor your download by pressing the PS button in the center of your wireless controller and selecting the [Download] arrow icon.
6. After the download is complete, you can play the PlayStation®5 digital game by inserting the PlayStation®4 format disc. You will need to keep the disc inserted each time to play the game.

Please note: The PlayStation®4 disc must be for the same country/region as your account for PlayStation™Network for the Upgrade offer to be presented. You'll find more information from PlayStation™ on upgrades here.

Navigating between PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®5 Versions of the game

You can navigate between each version of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga by locating it in your Game Hub, selecting the tree-dot icon, and choosing [Select Version]. A menu will appear allowing you to navigate between all of the versions of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on your PlayStation™ Network account. Choose the PlayStation®5 version and then select the [Download] button and the game will be added to your queue.
